Those are German stamps from 1889. Cool find. I have a bunch of stuff like that.

There should be a philatelic forum.

Awesome find. Was there a letter in the envelope?

Nope, no letter.

My mother-in-law married this super nice guy (her 2nd husband) late in life, and he died about 8 years ago. He left her all kinds of neat things he never told her about (like half a mil in stocks) and she found a trunk with a massive stamp collection in her basement a couple years ago. She gave it to me, and I have no clue what it's worth. Tens of thousands of stamps, lots of old ones, U.S. and all over the world. He never told her they were down there, in a hidden room behind the furnace. She found them by accident.
