old parts from an 1895 suppository machine!

these old parts were found buried under an old pharmacy in Alameda, Ca

this is how the suppository machine looks completely assembled, notice I have the same parts as shown in photo

Suppositories...

with the intravenous fluids and good antiemetics not available, suppositories were frequently prescribed, shown is a suppository machine #3 made by Whitall & Tatum [1895] containing various sized attachments, rectal and vaginal presses for making the proper sized suppositories are also seen here.

Wow, what a find. Making suppositories... well, it was a job, someone had to do it.

Still cool finds. I like old mechanical stuff and that certainly fits.

I dunno, I prefer coins. Alot of the time when I get any artifacts they are in pretty crappy condition, but I guess yours is too, by default.

Well everyone else's posts eased my mind. I am glad to know ,now, that it's for manufacturing the things and not for inserting them. Had me puzzled at first.
