However, I have not yet confirmed exactly what it is. Take a shot at what you think it is.

UPDATE: I FOUND A REAL 53 GRAM LUMP OF MELTED BRASS
Sorry for the disappointment, I'll just have to go out this weekend and find a real one.

I sure hope it is gold, but the weight looks too light. I really hope I'm wrong!

One thing for sure - if it turns out to be a solid, natural , nugget - at that size and weight , it would be worth a lot more than spot gold $

I'm starting to lean towards the guys who think it is too light. Unless it is much thinnner than it looks.
It looks to be about inch and a half diameter, by one quarter inch thick, is that about right ?

So what are it's average measurements ?
Maybe better you could find out it's exact volume, by putting it in the smallest rectangular box, like a tic-tac box or similar, fill with water, and the nugget, remove the nugget (with fishing line) see how many cubic centimeters are now missing

I know how that feels. Found a beautiful brass piece that felt and looked exactly like gold before as well. I must have spent 2 days just staring at it
