Back in February came across a very small early colonial site on top of a high yet small hill top, outside of some melted lead and broken horseshoes i came across 2 nice and intact spectacle buckles, id say they are of late 1600's to early 1700s design, and a decorative flat button with a fish emblem on it.

Very nice examples of early buckles.. You're pretty close on the dating, but they could be a little earlier, especially the one on the left. Great finds!

Very nice finds. The buckles are killer!

I really like the fish button, but believe it is upside down. The fish should have two fins on the bottom (anal & pelvic). It could have one or two fins on top (dorsal and/or adipose). Perhaps I am just being trivial or an ichthyologist!

GL&HH!

Love the early buckles. If you are digging buckles like that you are on to a good site. Keep at it!
