Small Silver Cache, And An Odd Arrowhead.

Just took the articles to my jeweler for verification. He gave everything a thumbs up. I bought one of those silver kits online, didn't do a thing, oh well. The silver came from a little rise in a field I have been hunting, 2.75 ounces. The field was just turned and planted so I will not be able to get back until the late fall to see if anything was missed. The arrow head came from a short hunt today. I did a double take when I first noticed the notches. It has a very odd shape. It is 1 1/4 inches across the base.

Nice finds. The second picture sort of looks like a printing plate. The bottom picture is some mighty fine eating if cooked right. LOL

I love a nice bowl of turtle soup. We used to grab them by the tail when they were laying on the road sunning. Threw them into the trunk and took them to Grampa's house. He made great soup.

By the way hope you find more of that silver.

Nice silver save there Looks like some hand scribed silver, that could be super old item ! Very hard to tell what the item used to be, might be more parts lurking in the soil still. Fortunate that you didn't trash the silver out !

I looked up your arrowhead in my identification book. Since you are in the Northeast, it is called a "Hardaway". Highly noted for its bifurcate base.

Very interesting finds! Those large silver pieces are amazing and are worthy of further study. I couldn't find the video again I saw on youtube, but in it it was explained that the ancient Native American cultures were experts at working stone. Your piece could have been broken in use and re-cycled into another tool, like a shaft straightener for arrows. That site has more good things to be found, I'll wager.
