Epic can have a lot of meanings. Age, quantity, location, etc. I consider this hunt epic since it was in a public park in a heavily populated area. There are a lot of detectorists in the area...

This park, well, is hidden. I didn't even know it was there until a friends retirement party.

The area of the finds was rather large, about 100'x50' and perhaps would represent the edge of a sports field. The first was the '43 Merc. I was stoked since I'd never been to this park before. Next came a '34 Washington at 4", and I'm like huh...ok. Then a '36. Nice! '62 really?! '35 are you kidding me?!?! And finally a '48. I only hunted about an hour then had to go home to the fam and company, but I'm hoping there are a couple more great finds to be had. Not bad for a public park! I was drunk on silver today. I've never found 5 quarters in a hunt. Early Washingtons are difficult to come by and 3 is stellar.

Happy hunting

Steve

Excellent! I pulled about 60 silver coins from a small park/traffic island about the size of your park in my home town my first year of detecting and mine wasn't hidden. If you grid that small park and dig everything I'll bet you'll be quite surprised at what you find there.

What kind of beer did you pick up?? :laughing7:

I went by, on my way to the beer store for the party, and stopped for a 20 minute look. Got another quarter and dime. Most of the rest of the park has been disturbed so I'm not sure how many are left. Both were 1956

60 from a park is amazing! Well, I bought myself some MGD but bought the guests some Blue Moon since they're a bunch of dandies. Then I drank all my MGD and start drinking the Blue Moon. Lol

Ah ha! I've seen that one before. Never bought it though...I need to keep my silver mojo about me. Since Friday I found 6 silver quarters, 3 dimes, and a half dollar. The half and a dime were both seated. I didn't want to become an arrogant ******* so I re buried them all. Lol

I had a descrete conversation with God Father Tom and he say you would hook me up with some pizza or else you'd be detecting with the fishes
