Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't tryed to clean the wheatie yet....but it's a 195_ D. (1951 I think)
Funny thing is I've hit several sites that I just knew would produce old coins but haven't been successful (yet), then I find this one in my own front yard.
I guess it's kinda like when guys go camping around a lake, you hop in your boat and go over to the other side of the lake to fish while at the same time those camping over there have come to your side....if you know what I mean.

That was my first wheatie, hell, my only first older coin of any type, a 1951 D wheatie! Great job, HH!!

Congratulations mvSWAT,
I love to find wheaties. As you know, it has been 47 years since the last wheatear cent was made (1958), so, consequently most of the lost ones are fairly deep by now. Keep digging, you have more good finds coming.
