Finally got that white whale today

It was such nice day in the 70's and sunny...Got home around 3:30 and decided to go on hunt. First hole a 1903 IHP site is looking good so far. Second was the 35 wheatie. A lot of old square nails then I found the old change purse and triple checked that hole. Then right a dark I get a good solid hit and I finally get my white whale. The all mighty buffalo nickel. Finally! Out of all the hundreds of nickels I've dug, V's, Silver nickels and Jefferson's. It looks to be the first year 1913 the numbers are a little ruff but who cares I got one. LOL, HH Guys! Thank for lookin.

I've actually dug as many v nickels as I have buffalo's so yes they aren't as easy to find as you would think

Nickels will usually be a 51-52 signal on the AT PRO,
although, I did dig out an 18kt gold ring on a 51.
I was so disappointed when I saw that it wasn't a nickel.

This hobby makes an awful lot of obsessives, don't it now. LOL I think every one of us has some object or coin that we seem to be searching for during a lifetime and it never shows. UNTIL! That one magical moment when ...... "THAR SHE BLOWS!!!" LOL

There also seems to be no rhyme nor reason why that one target stays elusive. For some, a silver coin of ANY kind, or an Indian head cent, or a War Nickel, etc., etc., etc.

Congrats on finally getting one of them crossed off.
