IM FROM EAST MIDLANDS NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

I wish I lived somewhere called Nottinghamshire!

Welcome to T-net and into the additive throws of Detecting for that matter. Congrats on the Henry the 8th. Don't think I'll ever find one by me but I know enough about Henry and his silver to know it's rare.

Firstly welcome to Tnet.

That is a massive hammered which is still missing from my collection, it would have fitted in nicely as a highlight of last year. CONGRATS

Its the third coinage of 1544-47 (Bebased, but your is not to heavily bebased)
Its 2015 book value is £750 in Fine, but its rare to get close to book value, unless 2 fight over it, so as a very Rare coin, worn & clipped it should still make £500 on a good day.IMO

Personally, most know my views on here, its a coin your never likely to find again & if your getting pressure, it might be YOU that regrets it later, not them. If your not sure keep it, they only go up in price, in 5 years it might make £1200.

Now that's a great looking hammered, congrats on the recovery. The old saying goes "I have or I had" really the choice is yours and yours only the way I look at it.

Saw this post but first time I looked at it. If Cru and Rob are excited, it must be good. The "Yanks" probably are passing this find over. If you weren't such a "newbie" it would probably make banner. (unless they changed criteria):dontknow:. Anyways.......Great Find! Hogge I'd sell:icon_thumright::2barsgold::treasurechest:
