Got a late start today and had to meet up with a couple hunting buddies that had already spent a couple hours in the woods looking for a foundation. They were unsuccessful finding that one but there was a foundation right where they entered the woods so I met them there. Dropped my coil to the ground and in less than two minutes I had a crisp 12-46 tone in my headphones. At about 5 inches deep this popped out of the ground. She's got a little jammy on her but it doesn't look fresh so I'm pretty sure I didn't do it. I love the deep green color.

Got permission on a foundation that's near an existing home a little later and a few more things popped up. Half of a Victorian era sash buckle, a three ringer, an ornate pocket watch cover piece, a harmonica reed and a toy farmall tractor that I'm actually thinking about restoring. If I could get the axles and wheels all it would take would be a coat of paint and she'd be good as new.

Thanks for looking. HH.

Bodacious token & relics finds "congrats" - if I found the farmall toy tractor I would use my wood lathe to make the wheels - anyway thanks for sharing your pictures & story and wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishing.

That's a very interesting token, and appears to be in good shape. I don't think I've seen one like that before. Great find.

I wish the 1820 Half-Penny token from Upper Canada I found was in even 1/4 as good a shape as yours! Great save! That buckle would look really sweet with the other half.

That's a beauty. Not many come out that way but, when they do, it feels so nice.

Congrats

Amazing condition that the Half Penny Token is in.
Very nice hunt. The soil where you are hunting has not been treated with fertilizer.
Congrats

Great token, I love the color. I walk the woods for hours and you show up and find the only copper in the first 2 min. Hunt them old roads around the foundations. Good job on some good finds.

Just dumb luck for sure. We probably would have just walked through that area if I was with you since we hunted it a little bit last time out. You're right about the roads. Not everyone hunts them thoroughly. Still way behind you in the copper column this year bud.

Yep, that's a nice one.
I have quite a few of those Geo IV Nova Scotia coppers, both 1823, and 1832, but very few coppers of any kind with no corrosion.
