Went for my walk on the beach and found these along with a bucket full of other unusual stone rocks. I think these may be arrow heads? Found on Cape Cod.
. My son and I are now reading books about finding Indian artifacts.
The first two in the pictures of the three artifacts are definitely spear points; not so sure about the third one. The one in the middle appears to be a Dalton, which date to about 10,000 years ago. You're in a good spot-go back there and look some more!
DownNDirty has it right, that Dalton type is really old and highly collectable! Also, there is a Native American section of this site and if you post this there you will get more answers most likely.
there are guys out there (on Cape) that would be very interested in those
they have been doing a lot of research on Indians out there - and its not easy
so depends if you would like to help them in their research or not
cool finds
Was almost thinking a Paleo variety on the concave base one. Would have to be fluted on each side though. Since I don't know what region your in, I don't know the identification of the other stuff. I have a huge Indian arrowhead guide on arrowheads based on every region of the US. Outdated as a price guide, but very helpful on identification.
Nice finds. Post the one in the last pic in the American indian artifact section like Creekhunter said. They would love to see it and can ID it for you. Make sure you tell them what state it was found in.
I'm not so sure about the first one, there are no sharp edges, and it would not have weathered away to dull as they are made of hard rock.
The one in center of pic 3 and 4, the same one as in the last pic. is def. a point. as you can clearly see the Conchoidal fracture.
That said the first one may well be a native artifact, just made of "practice stone." as it is not looking like any I've seen with it's "dull" appearance.
