Well today went out to hunt the old court house site where a friend had found a seated dime and I had found a 45 Washington, it had rain alot the night before so I when out. The ground was moist about for 5in and then hard as concrete and manage to find religious pendant and give on the site and when the oldest park in town which is a block away and after a few clad I kept thinking about the sidewalk strip the area between the street and the sidewalk. I had talked to city codes and they informed me that the if home owner doesn't that care of it and it's free game . So I hunted one section of the strip and this what I found , 5 wheaty s one merc (42) and a piece of silver jewelry. There's two whole city blocks of sidewalk strips I'm goinh to hunt and it's in the oldest part of city, 1850s. I also talked to a home owner and got permission to hunt his house which was built in 1894.

Funny you talked to the city. In most every state the home owner has no rights on the parking strips. I bet that is the case there also. Somebody at the city probably made that stipulation themselves. Congrats on the silvers. Hope you do well on the permission.

Did you know most 50 cal bullets are steel? I have only found one lead one. The rest are copper coated armor piercing steel.

Awesome digs Jim, I dug my 1/2 real in a curb strip in my town. I don't really care if I have the right to hunt a curb strip without asking. I rather ask the home owner who is tasked to maintain it and know I'm okay rather than to piss someone off and have the law called. I mean how would a person feel if a couple people decided to set up a corn hole game on your tree lawn, even if it's legal, is it ethical?
