Funny, I was thinking brand name too when I was trying to read the tag. But the close up tells the story, complete with date. Not seeing the first number, but looks like ?-3-44. Interesting that the war nickel was a 1944 too. Really cool finds!

That's not a cup Jeff, that's a dipper like granny always hung at the spring house. We could just scoop up a nice cold drink of water....

I was going to post on your first thread on the new property that you'd have years to come on that new opportunity.

And you proved it with the war nickel & sterling pendant.

Congratulations! You've only just begun :)

Believe me it is not an easy site to hunt,
But I did Tell him I'm ready to hunt it again.
Only with less Humidity :laughing7:

the Dipper hanging from the Outhouse is what I find Odd.
i didn't look in though.
Perhaps it's not the crapper :dontknow:
there are 2 of them on the Property.
But it would be odd to have a Well inside one.

I know you're probably already thinking this, but with two first names, a date, and location - good chance there is a story to be found. Would love to hear it if you're able to ID the owner(s). Good luck with future hunts. I would wear that place out!

Or that old saying "I'll be dipped in ...." :) :) :)

Maybe it's a well house to keep critters from falling in the well. And maybe the dipper was there to prime the pump. A lot of the old pumps had to be primed in order to create the pump suction.

the name Jewel is a bit unusual so odds are there were not allot with that name in the area..

Awesome Jeff. Looks like you need a brush hog! Hopefully a lot more keepers will come out of there. Interesting tag also. I wonder if it was for a soldier going to war from his girlfriend or wife?

I don't know, Since you know the history of the property a little, maybe I would see if during that time a a son named Art lived there.

Congrats on the silvers and other finds. Looks like you only just begun!!

Isn't it always the way? We see a rather large circle of silver in a hole and we start thinking about all those large silver coins ever minted. But, then, no.....id tag. Well, still, "yay" sort of, just not as big. ;)

Great post!

Hunt around the fenceposts. Sometimes folks used to hide their money in jars under fenceposts. I think they called them fencepost banks.
