Nice. Pistareens arent often cut like that either. Usually cut right through the middle.

Very cool find, I think Bill D wrote something about why so many are found Virgins and south, I'm always hoping to find one. I know a really sharp ax struck by another ax or heavy hammer would cut one of those coins even a clad quarter very easy. After reading Brads Great Adventure's post. I always figured it was done with a big knife struck with something, an ax would work easy.

No need to be a ninja, or have expert hands. Rest the axe blade on the coin and strike the back of the axehead.

Chopping the coin and you might not find the pieces.....don't ask how I know.
