Thanks! I've found silver in junk lots at thrift stores, but never with my metal detector, sadly!

I'm seeing Sackett & Company. Still a great find though and a good looking spoon!

Yeah, I can see it now, too. Yay for being super farsighted... next time I will put it under a scope at the college! We found some similar spoons under google. "whiting punch ladle 1891 pat Louis" turns up pretty much the same spoon. Still a winner IMO. Maybe I'll put it in my jewelry box and hang onto it for awhile.

Still worth the buck, but its not Tiffany. It's monogrammed so that hurts the value a bit - but yes, if you play your cards right you can get a tank of gas out of it.

Silver has been over 50 twice in my life, the last time it was 70. I bought 1100 oz for under 20 an oz in 100oz purchases.
When silver goes back up to $50 I am going to sell half. Its kinda cool having 70 pounds of silver in the meantime.

:icon_scratch:??? Are we adjusting for inflation or something?

January 1980. Hunt Brothers tried to buy all the silver in the world, ran prices up to over 50, they made billions.
