More history that might relate to your tag:
At the University of Montana (the U-M on your tag) in the year 1918 (your tag again), students in the UM Ranger School (training to become U.S. Forest Rangers) were called "shorthorns" and those in the UM School of Forestry were called "longhorns". If you can tie the Medal of Honor recipient, H.L. Turner, to having been in the UM Ranger School, you have a very valuable tag.

Digger RJ, You will notice that his place of birth is Aurora, Missouri. That may be researchable as to (1) Did you find it on property that was owned by his family. (2) If so, trace it to property in Billings, Missouri that he owned or lived at... I think it is amazing! Sub 8-) (Christian County MO)

He is buried in Oklahoma....

I've found lots of pocket watches, but never a fob, but when I do I hope it is as nice as yours!

Yes, but it shows this war hero in France in 1918, so I don't think it's him. I've contacted a local Billings Mo historian to help with the info.. Unless it was a fob he had made for that departure.

I thought it was Billings Missouri, which is on the back. Guess I better check all possibilities. Ty
