We had a thrilling hunt yesterday! I made a couple very nice saves and wanted to share. My finds were recovered using an AT Max, stock coil, zero mode, 00 disc, about 90GB, low 'n slow! Coins were found at depths of about 5-8", tough signals in fairly mineralized and clay-like soil. Freezing and wet all darn day, with nothing but 1700's relics to keep us warm! Late 1700's home site, private property hunted with permission.

The goods:
1.5 tombac buttons. My buddy Kurt found the other half I think--need to match them up. My one complete has a cool scalloped edge pattern.
1 early flat button with big fat shanker.
KG2 Half Penny, barely IDable
1777 2 Reales Mexico City
and my favorite find of the day: a Vermont copper! Landscape variety, (Ryder 6), 1786. Lucky enough to have the details on the reverse to ID it. My first and probably last landscape Vermont haha! The obverse is almost toast, I can see a part of the eye and the rays are 98% toast!

Cheers!
Brad

Amazing condition on the 2 reales. I prefer to hunt fields near old homes rather than disturb the homeowners but with results like that I may need to get over those concerns. In my fields that 2R would probably be scratched and bent and the coppers are usually unidentifiable

Me too, actually. I have a dog fence phobia! These finds were made quite a ways from the house. I don't like hunting right outside someone's front door. I usually disappear or hunt the outskirts.

Too wet to film unfortunately! It was a freezing mud-fest.

Nice finds Brad. One of the first large copper coins I ever dug was a landscape Vermont about 10 years ago. ( My avatar pic) Such a beautiful coin. Congrats!

Are we all in Denial??
It's getting cold, it's already wet, we're digging in mud.
Nahhh,, this ain't bad,,, lol
Yep, I'm wiping mud off my pinpointer and Lesche. Knees are soaking wet, and that's with a dish drying mat to kneel on.
I admire you determination.
It certainly paid off.
A Vermont Copper and Spanish Silver makes it all worthwhile

Congratulations

I just dug in the wind today. Nice going. That Spanish silver is tough to get.

A VT. landscape copper would be a dream, congrats on that outstanding find! The reale is very nice as well, but those particular Vermont coppers are much much rarer. Wow
