I had a great weekend with some great finds! I got a large unidentifiable copper, Eleven buttons, 1842 large cent, 2 1865 2 cent coins-my first ever!- 2 Mercury dimes, tons of other old relics. This field has Rev war vets buried next to it. I have found some early 1700's stuff here before. My last find of one day was this coin weight. I absolutely love it. It has the crown at the top, sword on the right and a symbol at the bottom. Anyone have more info on it?

Excellent find-definitely a nesting scale weight. Not sure but I think the W with the crown over it stands for King William III. The dagger signifies that the weight was made in London. The third symbol is called a "ewer" and it stands for the London Founders Company.

Yes, DownNDirt's ID:
A complete cast copper alloy half-ounce trade weight of post-medieval date. It is circular in shape with a raised rim around the outside edge of the upper face. The centre of the upper face has the crowned letter G at approximately 8 o'clock, the sword of St Paul ( City of London guildhall mark) at 1 o'clock and the ewer at 6 o'clock. The ewer was stamped on approved weights by the London Founders Company between 1590-1826. The crowned letter is the royal cypher - in this case G for George I to IV (Biggs 1992, 50), c. AD 1714-1826.

That was one heck of a hunt, congrats on a great day. I once found two 2 centers in the same day and they were on back to back signals! I'll never do that again, that's for sure.
