So me and my son went to the local park today which does date way back. It has been hit hard over the years but like they say its never really hunted out. I was hoping for a permission to a house from the 1860s but maybe we will get there next weekend. So any ways I was just glad to get out, it was a wonderful day not bad at all. We hit the side of a hill that nobody generally detects I told my son it would be the best place to try because most people hate walking up and down it. Here are some of our older finds. I found a 1882 Indian and he found a 1883. He found the 5 cent trade and a P with a lightening bolt through it, I also found a Chevy token and a old Ohio insurance stamp. All the writing is backwards and I can only make out a little of what it says like state of Ohio and such. Yes we dug a bag of trash to boot but its par for the course especially at a park. If any one has information on the insurance stamp like what year or any info that would be great. Thanks. Those are awesome finds for sure, but a day metal detecting with your son is priceless!
