Yesterday's finds... Couple unique finds.. The square piece with carving on it I have no idea. The hollow piece I don't know. All found at late 1700s homesite.
Bayonet scabbard tips were commonly lost by CW soldiers. When you sit down with a bayonet on your belt the scabbard sticks into the ground. Eventually the scabbard tip pulls off and stays in the ground.
That's why they are typically bent when dug. Yours is in remarkable condition.
The first picture appears to be a wax stamp sealer that has lost the stamp.Those were quite ornate on the grip and mine was quite fragile.Congrats on all those finds.
