That's awesome, I wish I could find old keys in that condition. I found a broken one a couple weeks ago.

That's a nice one. Most were used on inside doors, like bedroom doors.

Very nice find! I have one that I found in a bottle dump like 27 years ago but still haven't found one detecting which is surprising to me. Not easy to find those!

Congrats on your bucket list find. It's always fun to find skeleton keys, and they display very nicely.

Nice key. I have had the good fortune to find several old keys, including this one, 20190101_211054.jpg which is similarly styled as yours. This one I found in a field next to a currently occupied 18th century home, so I am thinking (hoping) it was from that period. Did you find yours on "old ground" and do you have any guesses on the age? Any way, real nice find. Congrats!

I am not sure of the age of the ground but it is untouched. A lot of house debris to sift through to find the goods. I am still smiling about finding it. Hoping to make a shadow box display of it.

Back in the '90s we were going through a box of stuff and found a large key ring with about a dozen of similar keys on it. Some looked like they were nickel plated. Sold them at a garage sale for a dollar. We had no use for them. Maybe somebody got a good deal.Didn't matter to me; I don't collect keys.
