Old Navy Button among other finds

Today was pretty good.? I did a little research and found a park that used to be part of an old navy base.? I look for an old tree with the high expectations.? My god, I found so many beer caps I almost packed it up.? Good thing I didn't, because I found a goody!!!

Looks like I found a navy button that probably dates somewhere between 1830-1870.? I did a google search and found one similar that was dated 1834.? Unfortunately, that is the only navy item I found at this old military location.? I'll have to keep hunting!!!

Oh ya, the rest is modern clad, an etched copper thingamajigger, and a 1944 wheatie.

As always, you're awesome. I did a little further research on the site I hunted. The Navy purchased the land in 1823. Based on the information everyone has been providing and what I have found, I think that we can safely say that the button was part of the 1820 Captain's uniform code, at the earliest. The 1814 uniform code had a similar button, but since this site wasn't purchased until 1823, the 1820 code seems to fit.

Officially, this is my oldest find yet! Yippie! I cannot wait to hunt the site again. Not to bad for my first researched site.
