Finds from Chinese gold mines plus pics

Hi all last week i post a thread about this chinese gold mines.the chinese mined for fine gold deep in the ground.they where masters of finding and exstracting fine gold using mercury.the area was mined from 1854 to 1948.I didn,t find any gold but did find a few relics from the gold mining days.Viles and a small bottle with chinese writting on it broken clay pipes , few british pennies and a few cash coins, all don,t last well in the clay. A couple of buckles and few shards.Spent most of the week-end at this site

be carefull, if they were using mercury there is a good chance its still there. and those little bottles sure look suspect.

I believe those are opium bottles.

In many of the railroad towns here in the western US they can be found. I have seen some that still contain opium and are sealed.

Thanks for posting your the, and the finds. You know how it is, sites like that need to be developed and if seems like you are on a good start. I’ve hunted sites similar to that, and it took several trips to see what really went on there, and to find the spots that the goodies are hidings at .
