I called Harbor Freight today about the back order status on these. They are now saying that they expect to have them by August 14th. Sorry guys!

Tell me where to buy a NEW Whites Bullseye II for $45? I would buy 2.
Lowest I've seen them is ~ $70.

I've tried the Bounty Hunter / Fisher probe and don't think it is worth $45. It's range was only 1/4 - 1/2" and the battery cover did not want to stay on.

I have been waiting since May 6.
Called several times and last fellow I spoke with said there were none in wearhouse at that time.
Aug. 10. I am jealous.

Still waiting for back-order.
I did call local HF and they had 1.
Raced down and got it for $16.99.

Air test:

14k gold ~ 1/4" - 1/2".
Clad dime ~ 1/2" - 3/4". New penny same.
Rusty nail - 1".
Steel 2" - 3".
Tried it on walls - found nails for sheetrock but not wires in the walls.

Sensitivity maxes out at half knob turn and buzzer is on all the time.
I turned it down until buzz went away for these tests.
When pointed down, sensitivity goes up and you have to turn down the knob.

Uh, I did not get the black and white rope ,
or the RoHS and CE certificate ture or fales.
I am not sure what that means. :dontknow:
Maybe that stuff is being held by the seller.
:icon_scratch:

I think the seller bought hundreds of these and got a discount on shipping.

I called Harbor Freight today about the one I had on backorder. They said that they had received their shipment and that backorders had been filled / shipped on Tuesday, August 12. Asked about how many they had in stock today. They had 280.

So if you want one, place your order quickly, as I'm sure these will go fast again!

I have 2 ordered and on the way...hopefully

Now the next question.....anyone know how to wire in a pager vibrator motor? I found a website to order the motor from, but I can install with directions (never could understand electronics).

Has anybody had trouble with this pinpointer overheating? When the weather gets really hot, it seems to be inaccurate. (very over sensitive) Sometimes just from being on the front seat (in the sun) while I'm driving to my spot. I'm unable to calibrate until the unit cools down. Sometimes all I need to do is keep it out of the sun at my side.

I am primarily using my vibraprobe because I needed a waterproof unit and I know the quality.

Anyway I ordered the Cen-Tec from harbor about a week ago with some other items. It came in today and I was really surprised on how well it worked. It will be in my backup gear from now on and my little dude has already claimed it as "his".

They must be back in stock now.

After reading all of these posts, I got one of these from HF as I wanted to try a cheap one out before I commit to buying a more expensive one. I found that I really do like having a pinpointer, and my only complaint was that this one is a noise only pinpointer. I went to Radio Shack, and they have a 3volt mico vibrating motor for around 3 dollars. I cut the speaker wires, conected it to the motor, and hotglued the motor inside the case. Presto, now I have a vibrating probe....

just as good as the Merlin Note: I am much too rough on pinpointers :( $$ I did notice on the
original post it says > the stem is waterproof < Well, on one i got the tip has a tight seal on the
other there's a gap at the seal i thought hmmm, i wonder if water will get in there ? ? So, i went
to the local hardware store and i found something i thought i'd share with all you people that pur -
chased a pinpointer i'm sure it will make my 16.99 purchase last a lot longer check it out
Here's the gap i noticed on one of them
