carved sandstone eagle

Is there anybody who could give me more information about this carved eagle in the field. the dimensions about 6'X5'X2'. Is there some sort of technology to enhance the image where its readable.

My best guess at this point is that it may be a grave marker.

It has been sized to the point that it is very grainy,
the pixels are too big to achieve any definition.

Here is what happened when I went a little to far ...
I found out how big the pixels really were.

I will have to take another picture of this marker, possible this weekend and post Monday16th. The photo posted was taken with a polaroid 600 some time ago. At the very top of the eagle the letters J. S. C. are clearly readable. I believe it to be a treasure marker because one of the old timer in my area had said he was involved in digging around with a bulldozer of course they found nothing but left mounds of dirt everywhere. I feel that this site is a key to another marker or the treasure is buried around this eagle. According to this older gentleman He said there was two cow hide sacks of spanish gold coins hidden here.

You can scan the old picture in high resolution so it can be zoomed in on/adjusted.

Try the technique used by genealogists copying old tombstones. Get large sheets of paper, cover the writing surface of the stone, then lightly rub the paper with a piece of charcoal drawing material (with the charcoal laid on its side) Old cemetery headstones can be reproduced easily this way so the samething SHOULD work here.
