Hi,

Need help decoding arborglyph found along a river in Georgia near the trail of tears. Tree is a very large beech tree in a large undeveloped area. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure it's a Cherokee arborglyph, Rob. Very nice find though. :icon_thumright:

The name ROEBUCK stands out to me. Considering it's proximity to South Carolina, and the apparent age of the tree, I would research Colonel Benjamin Roebuck's 1st Spartan Regiment and any battles in which he engaged in that area of Georgia (there were several). See if any match up to your area.

The American Revolution in South Carolina - Roebuck's Battalion of Spartan Regiment (Militia)

Good luck!

Hi.

I did run a metal detector around the tree with no hits?

Thanks for the Col Roebuck lead. That is very interesting and would be much older then the trail of tears.
