Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone on here could provide me with some insight to correctly/fairly price my specimen? I haven't tested the purity, but I did find it on Findley Ridge in Dahlonega, Ga.. and they do say we have the purest gold in the world?

This is what I do know... 94380047_2626461987632097_5285313778668273664_o.jpg 94188049_2626462027632093_4236248680677507072_o.jpg 94103031_2626462050965424_7181588654995800064_o.jpg

Size:

2 1/4"L x 1 5/8"W x 3/4"H

64 Grams

[SPECIFIC GRAVITY TEST:]

Dry Weight (A) = 63 Grams
Wet Weight (W) = 25 Grams

Multiply (W)× 3.1
25 x 3.1=77.5

Multiply (A) x 1.9
63 x 1.9=119.7

Subtract (A) from (W)
119.7 - 77.5 = 42.2 G of Gold in Quartz Rock (X)

Subtract (X) from (A)
119.7 - 42.2 = 20.8 G of Quartz Rock

Thank you in advance.

I am not an expert on how to test and find out what a specimen is worth. I have read by crushing the ore and processing to determine how much per ounce, but not on a single rock. There are a few gold mines on Findley Ridge

As the rock is kind of blobby, you might be better making it into a few smaller pieces, thereby the gold will stand out better.

Not a very attractive specimen. You might get something for gold. As to purity Australia is rated for some of the best. Your specimen looks like it might be cutable and that would make it far more valuable. Look around and see if you can find someone who can polish a window on it and check it out for possible cutting. Cabs of that material, if it can be cut and stabilized, would go for Karat prices.
