Gun Part? and I have no idea?!

I've been digging a site dating from the revolutionary war through the Indian wars in the 1870's. I've recently dug these two items and I have no idea what either could be.

Perhaps the first could be a part to a gun?
    It measures 1.5'' long.

The other piece was dug at the same site but in a pit that perhaps dates back to the war of 1812. Its approx. 7 1/2'' long and extremely sharp at the tip! The thinner part of the neck where the tip starts is soft metal. It can be bent fairly easily so I'm thinking it's made of lead? I have no idea what it could possibly be though...

    Any help is appreciated!

Your first one looks like some kind of battery cable.

The long item looks like a babbitt scraper. The first item clamps around a rod, makes me think engine part either steam or hit & miss. Tony

Item number one looks to be a part from a bicycle or ATV. Pic is hard to see. http://www.atvrideronline.com/tech/1.../photo_06.html

I find spikes on the beach that rust away looking like the second pointy item and are easily bent. If you think its lead test with magnet.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
