Possibly brass or bronze!
It helps the readership to put size, material ID (best to one's knowledge) and where it was found.
We have no idea if it was some country across the ocean, or what part of North America.

When asking what something is it is imperative to show pictures of all sides, composition of material if known, (metal or stone, type of metal if known), and where found, doesn't have to be exact, country, state and general area will do..
