I dug this today. I think it is a medalion not sure. Was wondering if anyone knows it's age and what it really is. I dug this not far from the matching buckles I found on Saturday. Thanks for any help and for looking.
It reminds me of a "Mamluk Dynasty" (1250-1517) Islamic coin.
Don.......
It does resemble an Islamic coin
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Agreed, made to look like but used as jewelry, sort of gold plated item a belly dancer might wear

How do you find Gold coins? Reply: 'By finding lots of Silver ones..'
A real man thinks about detecting every 6 seconds
The text on the piece is Hebrew. It would not be an Islamic piece.
didn't do much research, but this fits the 'fake coin' belly dancer idea perfectly (I have no idea what it says, only what it looks like) - jewelry
