Is it heavier than it looks? Possibly a carved lead bullet?

it is heavier than it looks. it weighs about as much as a 9 volt battery.. a lil heavier

i thought it may be a carved bullet. maybe a momento a CW soldier carved for his love back home..pretty cool if thats what it turns out to be

It could be like a love token but this one is a heart given to his wife or girl Friend, sort of like a promissory bond. Just an idea.

I found this other carving on a Civil war relic site. My heart seems to be made of the same material

    Re: Mystery Heart

I just came a cross a site that deals with Colonial America. The site is The Historical Shop. There is an item like yours on there, it says the item was a ( British Sword Belt Emblem). Take a look, it looks like a good referance site for relics like the ones we find. Nt
