    Creepy Looking Ring

Any ideas on this ring? What religion? Age or Time period?

They may or may not be attributable to one sect or religion, as the first symbols that jump out are both protective symbols, but originally of different groups; the Star of David, from Judaims and the Ankh (cross) is Egyptian.
The star of David with the six points helps keep you a one with the universe symbolizing all directions- north south east west up down. The ankh is for physical and mortal fortitude.

Maybe Wiccan? You have the star of david on one side, an Ankh on the other, and a pentagram in the center. I don't understand all the busy work around the Pentagram though. None of it looks familiar.
Or Freemason? The freemasons have an image of pillars with stars or globes at the top. Your ring has two of those and the freemasons have masonic pillars in sets of two. I can't tell by the image if the thing at the top is identical on both pillars. One looks like a star and the other one not so much.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family Anatidae on our hands.

Looks handmade, it would be strange to go through the trouble of making it just to get rid of it; according to the listing, it came from somebody's lost airline luggage.
As others have pointed out, the mix of symbols is a bit different; hopefully someone will recognize the mix and pinpoint the origin/timeframe.

Hippie Ring, 60's or early 70's; a mixture of symbols that mean nothing (unless you're whacked out on drugs, then it means a lot, it's just that you can't remember what it meant when you're sober again, dude).
When used appropriately, the metal detector is an invaluable tool for the Professional Archaeologist.

that makes a lot of sense, especially given the mixture of symbols on the side; but the one on the face seems to have more detail than a hippie would put in to it. Plus one has to wonder if a wacked out hippie could actually hand make such a thing.

I think it belonged to a Jewish Satanist who practiced Egyptian Monotheism.

The arrangement of the symbols tells me that the maker made it the way he/she did for specific reasons, and was very motivated. It may have been fear, hope, greed, but it was to invoke a power outside of his/her self. (imho)

If it were deliberately Satanic wouldn't the star be upside down?

The star of David looks like it may have held a stone of some sort.

The Ebay listing indicates it might have belonged to a Russian priest; do the orthodx do cabal?

The six pointed star was first an Egyptian symbol for Amsu.

Cabala was also borrowed from the Egyptians.

Thanks, I was unaware of that. The ebay description says it was found by a Russian Orthodox type cross; your tidbit makes me wonder if it is not related somehow to a Eqyptian Coptic orthodox influence. The description on Ebay doesn't help much in figuring out where it is from, but it is pretty humorus; its too long to copy here but the link to it is

One thing is for sure, If I found this thing digging, I would be concerned about digging any deeper.

From the crude casting and finish on that ring, plus the mix of symbols I'd say it's a modern "goth" type fashion ring. They sell similar ones at record stores and Hot Topic type stores.
