Star like thing, round thing with an anchor, casings, knife and etc.

Found in the woods in East Texas. No history on the area. Detecting Private property with owner's consent. I would like to know what the star like thing and the anchor thing is forsure, but I love all information on anything I find. If you know anything about the eagle or the knife or any of it, please do share!

I wanted to add that that anchor on the round metal, that is very hard metal, it looks like tin on the back, but it is not tinny, it is very durable metal.

Looks like you've got a cuff-size US Army Staff-officer's button. The wide-rimmed version, which is what you found, is post-civil-war era manufacture, dating from the 1870s through 1902.

Thanks! I appreciate the information. That is the second eagle button I found in these woods. I found one last year too.

The first piece is a compression seat. A hard spring goes underneath it, the tabs on both sides slide under a grooved opening and the cross is for the wrench that is made to seal the lid that is being pushed down on. Still it's a common industrial item used today like for old pressure cooker looking things. The star honestly just looks to me like a chain sprocket guide. Could be from the tip of a chainsaw to 100 other things.

Are you referring to the little cross like thing? Also I too thought the star thing was a sproket type thing, but the points on it are very sharp. Some of the guys here ruled that out because of that. I don't know if they know what they are talking about, so I am not saying you are wrong... I am just giving you more information. Thank you for taking the time to reply! I appreciate it.

[QUOTE=cdsieg;3129915]Are you referring to the little cross like thing? Yea, the first picture. The cross actually holds the wrench. It's simply a 90 turn to push down & lock the lid under the tabs on the kettle.
