    Strange metal blob

Normally I don't post anything melted metal as most often it's just aluminum, lead, or slag. However this was a bit different so I thought I'd have people take a guess at what kind of metal it is. I boiled it in vinegar with aluminum as steel and copper normally will turn pink while silver will clean right off and look new. The silver color stood out more after but still looks strange. I magnified it and can see that the silver color looks scaled. It is about the size of a penny well width wise at least. It is heavy for it's size. I know it isn't aluminum and I doubt it's lead as it is far too hard. My guess is it was something silver plated that melted and the silver plating fused in maybe? Though I figure it'd look different but who knows just my guess. Just a odd little thing I thought could get some interesting guesses going. Click image for larger version.

When I was a Boy Scout we threw coins in the campfire to see if they would melt. Maybe it was a dime...

I like the silver plated something that melted theory. I found a melted blob made of silver a few years ago, weighed exactly as much as a barber dime. Could be lots of things
