    Some type of clamp?

I have no clue what this thing is. Seems to be made of brass.

It kinda looks like a coin slot... the part where a coin would go into a machine... do any coins fit it?

    I know...i'm stupid

Update - never mind. I don't know what the heck it is...

I was going to venture a guess as a "coin slot"...until I tried to google up a photo...apparently "coin slot" is the new term for "plumbers butt"...of course the people profiling didn't look like they were in the trades...the plumbing trade anyway...in other words, I've got no clue.

The ridges and the slotted key area makes me think it's part of thing that seperates and twists to secure against another piece much like it.

yes, maybe part of a clamp... maybe electrical being brass.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Looks like some type of rope cleat, similar to this.
    (or a part of one)
