For starters, you may want to log on to: Historicaerials.com and check out the aerial photos and topographic maps that you can view from the early 1950's.

Another good resource is: Wisconsinhistory.org they have maps for the Sturgeon Bay area that you can view on-line.

Depending on where you go, your variety of finds could vary from Copper Culture artifacts to pull-tabs and modern clad coins.
It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
