Hello!

Newbie here. I am going to Sturgeon Bay for a few days soon. I will be staying on private property on the beach of Lake Michigan. Owner has given me permission to detect. Wondering what I might find? Any suggestions on how to prepare? Ie. Any links to the areas history? Any advice will be helpful. Thank you!

Welcome to T-Net!

Sounds like a fun trip with lots of places to explore.

For starters, you may want to log on to: Historicaerials.com and check out the aerial photos and topographic maps that you can view from the early 1950's.

Another good resource is: Wisconsinhistory.org they have maps for the Sturgeon Bay area that you can view on-line.

Depending on where you go, your variety of finds could vary from Copper Culture artifacts to pull-tabs and modern clad coins.
It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

Have fun:)
