I can only guess it has something to do with a watch...? The thick stem appears to be solid. No threads or markings.

I'm not sure what I've found here. It may be absolutely nothing. I was detecting an athletic field behind a now defunct, local Catholic elementary school. The school probably goes back to the 1960's, and I'm not sure what was there prior to that. It may have been part of church property...
