I hit the road yesterday looking for halves and big dollars. I left home at 8:15 am and returned around 7:00 pm. While I didn't find a single Ike, I did find a BUNCH of halves to go through. But, it wasn't the kind that gets you all excited to open the rolls. I stumbled right into at least 3 other CRHers' dump zone. That or one guy marks his rolls in 3 completely different ways. I found more marked rolls than I have ever seen, and at least 90% of the rolls I found were marked in one of 3 different ways. Many were just simply re-wrapped in their Loomis and Brinks wrappers and still in the box they came in. I did not open 1 single roll while on the road to maximize time. Until I found a lone loose 40%er about 5:00 pm, I thought that while I had several dollars to sort through when I got home, I very well might be skunked. I was definitely going to be surprised if I found enough to pay for gas. I opened all of the marked rolls first so as to maybe end the night on a surprising note. Happily, I was a little surprised.

* These 4 rolls were some of the last I opened. Roll 1 was a skunk. Roll 2 had a single 40%er. I opened roll 3 and heard, "clink, clink, clink, clink" etc. Looked in my hand and saw a '45 Walker staring at me. I had brief visions of a solid roll of Walkers, but it was not to be. It was accompanied by 15 40%. I open roll 4 and again that sweet sound. I Still haven't found that elusive solid roll of silver, but this one got me as close as I have came. 6 '64 Kens and 11 40% were in that roll. Total for that bank: 1 Walker, 6 '64 Kens, 27 40%.
All told I drove 315 miles roundtrip, hitting 48 banks (6 of which produced silver). In total I bought $3736.50 worth of halves producing 1 Walker, 8 '64 Kens, 63 40%, and 1 clad proof.
