Same thing happened to me yesterday. Was at a local park and saw the sun glinting off of something in the grass while I was detecting. Ran the detector over it. Got a signal. Bent over and picked up a 14k (7.5 gram) bracelet.
Thing is when I first got there, I almost left and went to another nearby park because this one has really hard ground and I just didn't feel like chipping away the clay to get to anything underneath. Then I thought, I'll just run the machine over the ground really quick. Man am I glad I didn't just drive away. Sometimes we get lucky. Is this a great hobby or what?

With that luck on side... why bother to even carry a detector? Classic :notworthy: . Parks are more than interesting me now though I have not got a pinpointer and don't want to excavate tons of dirt.
