No, that would be a great purchase. There are 480 grains of silver in an ounce, which means there are over two ounces of silver in that ingot. Currently silver is $13.42 an ounce, which means there is over $26.82 worth of silver in there.

Are you sure this is sterling (92.5%) every art or ingot bar I have seen is fine silver (.999%)
does it say sterling on the bar?

Even if it was sterling it would still have $25 worth of silver. Still a great deal!!!!!!!

Good deal. I have one sterling bar, 500 grains. Got it for a little less than spot. I say go for it.

my bars say either fine silver or sterling silver and there is a differnce in price as sterling has other metals in it to make it stronger(harder) thus less silver
