I have not used the 12X10" coil on the Vaquero but have on the Tejon. I got good depth with it but the increased weight bothered me. If I used it for relic hunting instead of coin hunting it would have a better use. I think you should get it for the extra ground it covers per sweep and depth compared to the standard coil.

Thanks Sandman,relics are what I am thinking about. I went on a hunt with another Tnet member to an extremely hunted battle field area that he has permission to hunt. He said it had been hit hard for thirty years . I ended up with a rivet and a few lead fragments r . He dug a couple of bullets .
I was wondering if that larger coil would be worth the money.

I think the 10x12 coil would be deeper if it was a concentric coil instead of a DD.
