Went detecting early AM yesterday ~ found a total of 112 coins ~ 1936-D buffalo nickel and a dateless buffalo nickel ~ 1945-S War Nickel ~ 1964 Silver Dime ~ 20 wheats (1929 to 1958), a little toy truck that I found both halves . . . . . and a 14K gold watch!! I don't know much about watches ~ it's a says GRUEN Continental. When I first dug it I was assuming it was just a junky Timex or something, but as soon as I saw the "14K GOLD " marking on the back I knew I had a serious treasure! This is my fourth piece of gold in a week!! Last Saturday I found a little 14K gold band at the park during our metal detecting club outing ~ then I found a 10K 1965 class ring on Wednesday ~ then a 10K 1953 class ring on Friday ~ now this 14K gold watch yesterday! I'm on a roll ~ then last night I went to a poker tournament and won first place ~I think I should go buy a lottery ticket now!

Congrats on the gold and other nice finds! Gruen is a German word for Green, doubt it has anything to do with it, LOL. HH, Mike

Wow, what good locations you hunt and the luck you have. Good going, I'm still waiting for my first gold watch.

Nice group of finds. Buffalo nickels are always fun to find. Too bad the dates on them are so often missing.

4 pieces of gold in a week ain't too shabby. Congrats!!

You're doing great!

What will you do with the watch? It looks like a huge hunk of gold! ;)

Nice finds grats.

U need to check that watch carefully, i have a couple old gruen watches that are jeweled movements, the movements and jewels are worth more then the watch.
