Got out for about 4 hours today. I believe the buckle piece is early, hope the experts can help. Only my second 2 center, the other is 64. Tent rope tensioner is a first for me. Had a great day with beautiful weather. Good luck to all. Art

Awesome coin, id love to get some coin denomination they dont make anymore, like a two cent or a trime. Nice find ,congrats.

That would have been a beautiful spectacle buckle but still a nice find as is. It proves your on some really old ground

Another interesting hunt with a nice selection of goodies! The belt buckle and 2-cent piece are cool. :occasion14:

Looks like you had an outstanding hunt. The buckle looks like a match & congrats on the two-center. What is the copper disk with hash marks around it-a coin or a button?

Thanks toasted

Your welcome. Colonial buckles, especially the early ones( pre 1720), are rarely posted. I dont recall even seeing a fragment of a spectacle buckle posted in quite awhile. Id take a complete colonial buckle over a colonial copper any day. Id even take a complete early colonial buckle over a worn out late 1700s Spanish silver. Maybe because Ive found several early complete buckles but have yet to score thate late 1700s Spanish:laughing7:

I have a few Spanish silvers, but no complete buckles maybe we should get together sometime and try to even things up

That long thing with a hole on the end is a tent rope tensioner? I believe I found one once and never did figure out what it was. Thanks for the ID. I have only found one two cent piece. Thankfully it was a fresh drop and my Illinois soil treated it very well. Great selection of cool old relics. I'd love to spend some time out on the east coast. I love the colonial stuff you folks recover.

Great stuff Art. Congrats! That buckle piece is sweet.

Yeap 17th C - Congrats. Not sure I've had a whole one either yet, a few bits....

Hey, Art, how've you been? A fine assortment of goodies there! Great buckle. Congrats. -Lisa & John
