Alex,

If you are in correspondence, can you verify that they are at least soaking it in fresh water? The salts will start to expand as it dries out (hopefully it wasnt loaded, but that would have been apparent by now!)
At least this way, with fresh water, it can start to balance.
With the size. it would be relatively inexpensive to set up an electrolysis bath as well.

AUVnav, rest assured, it's in good hands. Australian maritime archaeology is one of the best in the world. :)

Nice find, but I'm kinda suprised Spain hasn't claimed it and sent a plane for it yet!

Alexandre, can you get me a direct contact?

Let me see if I can pXRF the artefact.

In the meantime, given the location, see if we can get a vet to xray the artefact, the field xray units that vets use for horses are far more powerful than the human variety, (and much less expensive)

This is like pulling teeth! :BangHead:

Are the XRF results available? (including the profile from the unit used)

I have an interest in an open source XRF database for research use.
The results can be compared and/or added to the database.

Alexandre,

Hopefully, my response did not come off the wrong way, email messages are difficult with intent, and the :BangHead: is just what I do anyways. It will be great to connect with you on email and Skype.

VOC, in review of your messages on this forum,
I note little original content,
rather a significant amount of what I would consider nothing more than a juvenile response with irresponsible content.

Should you be inclined to provide a response with relevant content, perhaps your opinion will be considered.
