1710 OLDEST SILVER, IT'S FRENCH ! & live dug VID

Yesterdays digs, hope it still counts, computer froze during vid upload, bla, bla, bla...

Anyway I was re-griding the lead field in the opposite direction of the Aug. 27th hunt. I wasn't there very long before I got one off the top ten list, yep a french Silver. A little bit of a bend in it, but SUPER HAPPY with this find. As well another fathead 6 pence, and three coppers, for a record smashing 101 for the year.

Good luck out there.

Funny on my Utube channel a guy gave a sarcastic remark about not taking him to this particular spot, when in actual fact I did, seems people (in general) not only want you to do the research, leg work, get the permission, but also want you to put a good find under their coil ?

Good luck out there.

Great job, keep it up. Love coin pics, especially ones with the history and age you've found. Thanks for posting.

Well done Rick, 100 coppers so far this year, first french coin, and oldest coin for you to date all in one hunt and a short one at that. :hello2::hello2::hello2:
Can you post up some cleaner pix of the french coin? I am going to say that that baby is Banner worthy, vote is going in.

Thanks Dave, but it is as about as clean as I want it. The video shows it fairly well I could cut out a frame or two from that ?

Or add another pic...I will.

Thanks for the banner nod. It is hard to imagine how many french were here prior to 1755, but how few french coins emerge from the soil, it is indeed a rare find, my first in 6 years of rather intensive digging.

I knew what that would be as soon as I seen the title. Sure ain't nothing wrong with that find, and actually in pretty decent condition too for dug billon.

Romeo, can you still breath with all that dust? :)

Pacing myself! Actually this is my busiest time of year at work and have only detected once in the past 2 weeks and that was with Rick. I'll back full bore next weekend...it's GO TIME!

That's an awesome find Rick...not one that I've made!
