HEY GUYS AND GALS

Out for a very quick hunt last night after supper.

Almost didn,t go...Grabbed teh CZ-21 and Cousin Ed and hit the shore in a spot hadn,t been to in over a month.

Figured would be a bust as there wasn,t anything there last 2 times out to that spot and was giving rain --so short hunt.

But I was totally wrong !!!

The whole beach had completely changed..the sand had shifted all over the place.

Ed found this button...poor picture as was getting dark and used the truck interior light to gte a pic.

Any ideas on the button ???

TY Ahab

The sand definitely shifted from last weeks big southeast wind.

Just wondering if these coins/button was deep or got moved in from outside low water.

I can't tell whether the button has a back mark, but based on what I can see in the photos, I would guess 1790-1810.

Woke up to a couple inches of snow, rivers over flowing and wind howling! Glad it'll be decent Friday for my next treasure adventure :-)

Ty Steve.

The button has a nice shiny gold background....can,t see it as had bad lighting in the truck when I took the pics.

That was an awesome short hunt Aqua! Nice going on the pistareen, and I like that early navy button too. I'd have to agree with Steve about its age - maybe very early 1800s. But I'm no military button expert. Good luck on the next hunt.

So far this year--the short 1-2 hr hunts seem tobe the best for whatever reason.

The pic of the button doesn,t do it justice.... the Spanish is cleaning up very nicely... will post a pic of it later when it is done.

A little light electrolysis for a few minutes will take that black tarnish right off. When Ed gets his button cleaned we'd like to see a nice close-up so we can better determine the age. Thanks.

Still doing it! You're certainly going to have a huge piles of goodies once you have some years under your belt.

ZodiacDAVE...gave me papers that show/tell how to set up electrolysis tank.

Gotta get to it and get it done. Will get a better pic of his button tonite when we go out hunting again shortly.
