I got out for 30 minutes after a busy day. I cleared about 20 sq ft of heavy thorns and detected 10 minutes. Dig some nails and only one good keeper.

This is my first facsimile Spanish cufflink and it's a great example. I minimally cleaned it due to the fragile patina. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484186875.045382.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484186885.965223.jpg

The ground was surprisingly thawed. Happy January. Any day out in this month is a bonus.

Good hunts

Oh but what a keeper! That is so cool the date is perfect. You did a great cleanup Steve. I have some thorn spots that you have given me the idea to find some really incredible finds. My son just recently purchased a weed wacker with a metal blade (I guess that makes it a brush hog) I have to wait for deer season to be totally over and need to talk with the farmer to make sure he is ok with it. Thanks

Brush clearing is a great way to find hidden goodies. Moving logs/branches, high weeds, and bramble also opens up previously detected spots since most guys don't really clear. I was thinking of getting a pole trimmer but they're too costly, so instead I use a machete and shovel. Cheers bro

Looks like some hard work and creative landscaping paid off! That's a really interesting cufflink, with some great history. Congrats on a great recovery.

That's a really nice link man and in great condition. I really like the contrast in the cleaned pictures.

Lol. I've done four clearings totaling 100 sq ft. I'm pretty sure this site was hit so there's not too many keeper

Thx brad. I saw it was flaking even in cold period, so left the embedded crud and just delicately cleaned the surface with acetone.

Congrats on your first Spanish Coin facsimile cufflink Steve. They are a cool relic to find. I have found about 7 or 8 of them, most don't have crisp details like yours. I have one linked pair, and another with the loop still attached like yours.

That's an awesome coin. I remember you posting it along with some others. Well, hopefully this cufflink helps during the frozen months you're dealing with right now. Come spring, I'm sure I'll be jealous of your finds once again. Lol.

Cheers!

Thank You! Yes, it's sure cool to see that you guys are able to hunt. Some of my spots have 3 feet of snow at this time. Have fun!

Steve, I've been watching you and other dig them up in various conditions, and a complete one must have been amazing. From your count I guess I didn't do bad with the loop and condition;) cheers bud
