1773 Virginia half Penny nice condition my first

Had a quick lunchtime hunt at colonial field in Central Virginia. Did not produce much but at the end of the hunt was very fortunate to save this beautiful VA half Penny. My first one. Its in pretty good condition.

I found one in nice shape and brought it to a local coin dealer just to see what’s it’s value was. I was told it was a counterfeit coin because it wasn’t copper. Was told it was still collectible because it was counterfeited back in the same time period. Still not sure if there’s any value because he never told me if it had any worth.
