I just picked up this old 1785 Vermont coin to add to my small colonial copper collection. I paid $125.00 for it which Im sure is probably more than it is worth but I like the history of it and will probaly never find one with my detector. Coin protector had 1785 Vermont wrote on it. They did make a 1785 Vermontis and with so much wear Im not sure how seller could tell the difference. Seller also had good / very good condition written on it which I think he was dreaming. Would you call this AG ?

While not terribly rare, the Vermont landsapes are very popular and bring a premium. They are certainly one of my favorites! At $125 I don't think you overpaid. Your coin has pretty decent details but surfaces leave a bit to be desired. I don't worry grade too much on colonials, there are so many variables like color, surface quality, strike etc.
